Talk at Glenbrook
Thursday 18th May
On Thursday 18th of May, Mrs Zuleyha Keskin was asked to do a talk at the parish hall of St Finbar's Catholic Church, Glenbrook. Miss Injilay Hassan accompanied her to the mountains to do this talk. The topic of the night was "How do I as a woman experience my religious tradition." There were three women; Mrs Zuleyha Keskin (Muslim), Diana Levy (Buddhist) and Trish Hurley (Christian).
There were around 30 people present at the talk, which made it an intimate and interactive discussion. The questions asked were quite unique such as;
- How do you know when God is trying to tell you something or how do you seek a response if you are in need of a response from God?
- What is there in Heaven for women to look forward to?
- How does your relationships bring you closer to God?
Overall, it was a great event. It was also special because it was the first interfaith event organised by the parish, which we were told will not be the last.
