It was amidst and within the monumental building of the Australian National Maritime Museum where historical findings of human kind and nature were on display that on Friday the 10th of December 2004 the ANZ Theatre was the platform for the international voice of Imam Zaid Shakir and local professor Dr. Tracey Rowland. The talk of the night was titled "Destiny of Mankind" |
Dr. Rowland's focal point was to get the spiritual connection reconnected with God to realise the spiritual connection with the Divine. And through a series of critical and analytical approach of the various western as well as eastern philosophies and outlooks she concluded that in essence this spiritual connection must be sustained in both Christianity as well as Islam in order to build a future or a destiny for mankind.
Imam Shakir highlighted the importance of service to the society “as muslims we need to obey our duties and uphold the caliphate role bestowed upon us as the caretaker of the world”. Thus the Imam's main focal point was that of responsibility, in order for any possibility of a destiny for mankind upon this earth, ‘We all' addressing the audience ‘should take responsibility to uphold our care taking duties in order to come together and build our harmonious and peaceful life so that Mankind's destiny of reconnecting with the Lord may be achieved.
The recurring message of the whole program for the night was that of the essential need and importance for a spiritual reconnection and focus back with God, for the destiny of Mankind is a reunion with the lord in the from of the hereafter. It is then most necessary to realise this goal and reconnect with the Creator in order to plant the seeds of goodness in society on earth but see the rewards and benefits of it in the hereafter.
Alongside the two main speakers was the dynamic presentation of Afroz Ali, which satisfied the spirits of the attendees. Also the question and Answers session was useful for those who had further issues or comments.
