The 2005 tour of Turkey

E-mail Print

In April 2005, Affinity Intercultural Foundation and our sister organisation in Melbourne, the Australian Intercultural Society, organised a study tour in the form of a multifaith journey to Turkey.

The tour delegates were comprised of religious leaders, renowned academics, Parliamentarians, reporters and entrepreneurs. Such people included the Honourable Murray Thompson MP, Professor Gary Bouma and Doctor Greg Barton just to name a few.

The whole trip took 10 days and covered 8 cities. The delegates met with governmental and religious officials, visited many historic sites including The Blue Mosque, St. Peters Church, Virgin Mary Church, Harran and Hagia Sofia. The delegates then went on to visit the Grand Bazaar, Fatih University, Samanyolu TV and other places of interest.
