Archive: Talks at Loyola Senior High School, Mt. Druitt | 12th & 20th June
On Wednesdays, 12th & 20th June 2007, Affinity was requested to give a talk to Yr 12 students on Islam at this senior only - Catholic high school. Makiz Ansari represented Affinity and went to both sessions and in total addressed about 80 Year 12 students.
We basically discussed the tenets of belief and general Islamic outlook followed with Questions and Answers.
This was a first of its kind for the school to have a Muslim presenting Islam to them. The principal both times came to thank and encourage the initiative taken by his staff.
After the first session, one particular student chose to remain back and asked questions along with his teacher for another 45 minutes.
