In the month of April and May, Affinity intercultural Foundation has hosted 3 sets of delegates from Indonesia.
The visitors were mainly academics, dialogians and people who were working in social work promoting education, gender equality, social harmony and cultural exchange. The delegation visits are aimed at promoting Australia’s rich diversity where the visitors would be taken to interfaith settings such as church, museum and university visits
On some occasions we had attended a panel or seminar being organised by the university, which was covering the topic of religious and or ethnic diversity. Affinity also took them to the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, Sydney University, UWS, Macquarie University along with various Cathedral and Church visits.
In all a total of 10 visitors across 3 separate groups visited Affinity and the Sydney community. Ahmet Keskin commented on how these visits help “promote an understanding how Australia embraces and cherishes diversity and freedoms. There are great examples of social cohesion that Australia has which could be a model for the world to follow”.
Affinity looks forward to working with our community partners and DFAT in promoting education and cross cultural exchange with a view of spreading the message of social inclusion.
