Mehmet Saral, was interviewed by Stan Grant from SBS TV News for their “Our Unique Identity” segment done for the lead-up to Australia Day.

Interviewed on Australia Day Mehmet was asked a variety of questions including how do you define your identity; what are Australian values; what values do Muslim Australians bring to our country; is Islam misunderstood; what can mainstream Australia learn from Islam; and is there a need for more interfaith dialogue.

The program also featured Larissa Berendt, an Aboriginal academic and Thomas Kenneally, an Australin poet.
